Thank you Hayden!

I can no other answer make, but thanks, and thanks.

A big thank you to Hayden Boutique!

I love how the gown turned heads at Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards (NAPBAS). Some commented that the gown leaves no room for imagination because of the great fit while some said it looks atas. Either way, I fancy the gown, especially the bright color and cut.

Hayden was really kind to provide me with jewelry from Michal Negrin to match his gown.

Do follow Hayden on Twitter or Facebook for fashionable updates!

This parsley shawl reminds me of his pre-fall 2011 collection.

Hayden Boutique Spring 2012 Collection!

The wait is finally over!

It is a New Year and time for a dynamic new attitude! Make a bold and beautiful entrance in the Year of the Dragon in a HAYDEN design. The bright and vibrant colours of turquoise blue, magenta, merlot, fuchsia and canary yellow – for that sophisticated approach to spring 2012. Boasting that feminine silhouette!

This is my fave from his S/S 12 collection!

This instantly caught my eyes! See how beautiful it falls on Miss Universe Singapore 2011. Val wore it for a Swedish TV shoot.

Totally love the ribbon on the neck.

The wrap dress looks great in fuchsia too!

Visit Hayden Boutique for more designs.

Who is Hayden? He is a local designer and I look up to him. He has taught me many things in life even till today. Truly a great designer, be it for fashion or shaping my life. Thank you for your guidance.

Behind the scene for Mediacorp Radio 75th Anniversary at Capella

All gowns from Hayden Boutique except third, fifth and eighth from left. Stunning accessories from Michal Negrin.

I love this gown! The high cut and the frills (abdominal area) flow with that piece of cloth. I don’t think you can see clearly in the photos but it’s beautiful! Thank you Papa H.

And the smell of Hayden Boutique - lemon grass!

I was the only girl without faux lashes that night.

Back to my kampung clothes after all that glam.

Heck yeah, I’m still mad!

Behind the scene

I’m sure I’ve changed the most in MSU journey.

Before the makeover at The Hair Secrets

Grooming classes at Hayden’s Boutique by Ida

Photoshoot at Cafe Del Mar by Fotocology

I literally LOL-ed at this because those who drank the detox tea from Lumiere had… need I say more? I was one of those but the rest who drank the rejuvenating tea were fine.

Dennis the photog!

At sponsors’ events

Orchard Scotts Dental. I love their service quality! I managed to bring in business for them via word of mouth.

Harley Davidson’s apparels are to right down my line! I’m glad I don’t ride otherwise I’d be eyeing on their sexy bikes. Stay tuned for more Harley Davidson this mid October!

After MSU? Check out my Facebook, previous posts or meet me in person. I guess more recent photos will be up tomorrow night because

We’re gonna party at Dennis’ tomorrow evening! Yayness! He uploaded this on Facebook several hours ago. See how generous they are! KK is a great cook! He cooks for us every time we use their premise. I thought he is a chef all this while until he appeared on The Business Times as a CEO in an industry not related to F&B - full page! I almost had to look for a plastic surgeon to fix my jaw.

Like I said, MSU isn’t over. There’s more to come. ;)

Feast on tomorrow! I don’t believe in diets because I can never say no to food.

Mediacorp 75 Radio Gala, 26 July 2011

I tried another gown last week during fitting. I secretly wonder if the lolita punk gown I tried last week was inspired by me because his designs are elegant and that didn’t really fit into his line. Nah, it’s impossible for a small fry to influence him.

Hayden decided I should wear the gown in the photo instead. It was really sweet of papa H. I was shocked when he pulled out a high cut dress last night because I have a keloid on my left knee. It can be concealed but I was tight for time last night. I rushed down after work (freaking cab fare cost $6.75 from Vivocity to Capella). I’m grateful the beauty team backstage helped me even though I am not from Mediacorp. Our beauty sponsor offered to do our hair and makeup at 2pm but I was at work. I arrived at Capella around 7pm.

Notice the high cut is on the right? How thoughtful of him in dressing me! “I’m not your papa for nothing”. True on that. The MSU team has been working closely for monthsss. I recall Hayden saying “you don’t like floral right?” as he was choosing a cocktail dress for me for the press conference. Indeed, I’m into bold colours and rock influence. “Rock chic!” Hahaha. How I wish Harley Davidson will sponsor me a new wardrobe.

I will upload more photos here when I get hold of them. I’m second from left in both photos - the only girl with short hair. I’m glad most people prefer me in short hair.

The gala took place at Capella ballroom. I didn’t know Singapore has so many DJs!

Went to McDonald’s with the girls after that. I had 6 piece nuggets, double cheeseburger and fries for supper. I’m out of shape because I really love eating and I’ve been sleeping late. :(

That’s our papa Hayden! You’ve probably seen him on newspapers as a fashion designer.

Can’t wait to see them tonight and twice next week! MSU 2011 isn’t over. More events are coming.

Try spotting me! Okay, I’m third from left.

Packed with beauty and brains

Thank you TNP for the good coverage!

I hope Singapore citizens are more confident in local beauty pageants now.

This journey has been pleasant. It’s amazing getting to know the 9 other finalists. I am a newcomer to pageant as I am 18 this year. I initially thought that pageant queens are nasty but MSU proved me wrong.

MSU 2011 is like a family. I am so grateful to the creative directors and generous sponsors.

Harley-Davidson for casual wear.
Hair Secrets for hair, makeup and venue.
Lumiere for slimming sessions.
Cutis medical laser clinic for facial and skin consultation.
Glominerals for makeup.
Hayden for evening gowns and venue.
Core fitness for fitness training with personal trainer Scott Ho.
Fotocology for photos and venue.
Imp international for grooming.
Jog for swimwear.
LifeBrandz for venue and food.
Michal Negrin for jewelry.
Orchard Scotts Dental for basic dental services and teeth whitening.
Pink Parlour for nails and waxing services.
Riccino for heels.
VR for photos on http://www.singaporevr.com/vrs/MSU2011/Finalists.html. (Please continue to vote for me)

I wish to highlight Daryl and Hayden - our “nannies”. They went the extra mile to make us feel like queens by ensuring quality in everything we are provided. Also, our groomer, Ida who has decided to enter the pageant scene after a hiatus of more than 10 years. Last by not least, Dennis for all the wonderful photos which are on my page and yummy food his partner cooks. I do not have to worry about anything as I know everything is at its best with them around.

MSU is like no other pageant. Everything is fully sponsored, we are not forced to purchase anything to be in favor and the winner is not determined by forums/polls/number of likes on your Facebook page. It is all determined by yourself - how you work it at the finals.

Front row seats for the finals at Shangri-la are sold out some time ago. Feel free to drop an email to dsp95@pacific.net.sg for tickets available at $300 and $200 per pax.

I shall tumblr more on MSU later today. I need to get some sleep.
